Here are four suggestions for becoming a better writer:
- Become a reader, and read often.
- Find an author whose style you admire, and imitate that style to learn how it works.
- Study grammar, usage, and the problems of composition.
- Find a "personal editor" whose opinion you respect, and submit your work to be edited.
Your editor can be a friend, a spouse, or a work colleague. The editor shouldn't be used merely for proofreading, but to find out whether you have succeeded in your goal of fully communicating your ideas in as few words as possible.
