Oral argument is one of the most exciting parts of litigation, and only a few lawyers are really good at it. But even if you aren’t a naturally-talented presenter, you can still improve. The important thing is to get away from your outline and use a more “modular” approach to oral argument.

Finally, here are some related posts from Trial Practice Tips--

Hello, Evan. Thanks for supplying these links. Searching for tips on oral argument and reply briefs, I was directed here and I'm very pleased to make contact again with you. After not practicing for 14 years, I volunteered to help my friends Bill and Cyndi Mienr fight some zoning injustice in Duanesburg, NY. [The Town allowed a 30,000-gallon propane tank to be placed less than 200 feet from the Miners' home, under a special use permit in the category of "retail shop or store."] It's my first oral argument and brief writing in 20 years, so I'm rusty.
I hope all is well in the many facets of your busy life.
